Watford line up shock move for Argentine

Former Marseille manager Marco Bielsa has emerged as Watford’s top target if they sack Quique Sanchez Flores, reports The Daily Mirror.

Sanchez Flores, 51, has lead Watford to safety and into an FA Cup semi-final in their first season back in the Premier League but his job has incredibly come under pressure in the last week.

The Hornets’ league form has been in freefall since the turn of the year, although that has mainly been because safety was achieved so early.

Nevertheless, they are still only three points off the top-10 and could be in the FA Cup final if they can beat Crystal Palace on Sunday. Defeat at Wembley, however, could spell the end for the Spaniard and Watford have already put plans in place to make a move for Bielsa in the summer.

Bielsa, 60, regarded as one of the great innovators of football, has been out of the job since walking out on Marseille after the first game of the season. The Argentine was previously linked with the Swansea post when they sacked Garry Monk earlier this season and would bring a wealth of experience to Vicarage Road.
