Chelsea to battle Real Madrid for Manchester City hotshot
Chelsea will join Real Madrid in the race to sign Sergio Aguero from Manchester City, reports the Sunday Mirror.
Aguero started the 4-0 win over West Ham on the bench, while his stand in Gabriel Jesus impressed to score and register an assist in the victory at the London Stadium.
The Argentine has been strongly linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium in recent months with City boss Pep Guardiola also a fan of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he looks to freshen up the club’s frontline.
Real Madrid are keen to bring Aguero back to Madrid, but they too have been linked with a move for Aubameyang, which could complicate any possible deal.
Chelsea, though, could be about to steal a march on the Spanish giants in the race to sign the 28-year-old.
The Blues are concerned that star striker Diego Costa will leave in the summer, with a lucrative offer from China on the table.
The Spanish international has 15 league goals to his name this season and was linked with a return to Atletico Madrid last summer.
Chelsea, then, could target Aguero as a replacement for Costa, should the former Atletico man look to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
