Chelsea have failed in their attempt to sign Inter winger Jonathan Biabiany on loan until the end of the season, reports Sky Sports.
Antonio Conte has made a late surge in the January transfer window to strengthen his squad as he looks to maintain Chelsea’s title challenge.
The current Premier League leaders have already failed with a late January swoop for Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, as well as Celtic duo Craig Gordon and Moussa Dembele, with Biabiany the latest player they have failed to land.
Despite the fact Biabiany has played relatively no part in Inter’s campaign this season, the 28-year-old reportedly holds reservations about a move to Stamford Bridge and his long-term future with Chelsea should he agree to go out on loan this month.
Chelsea have already been linked with a move for Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, although he wouldn’t be eligible to play for them until the summer due to the fact he has already played for two teams this season, with Biabiany also in the mould of a fast winger.
Biabiany has only made three appearances for Inter this season and all of those came in Inter’s disastrous Europa League campaign.
Of players that have started in at least 100 Serie A games since August 2009, only Juan Cuadrado (1 every 26.5 minutes) has required fewer minutes per successful dribbles than Biabiany (every 29.1 minutes).
