Victor Moses is still in Jose Mourinho’s first-team thoughts at Chelsea, claims Stoke City manager Mark Hughes.
The former Wigan Athletic winger has only made 12 Premier League starts for Chelsea since joining from Wigan in 2012 and has spent the last two campaigns out on loan.
Moses, 24, appeared on the way out once again this summer, with Stoke frontrunners to make last season's loan deal a permanent one this summer.
However, Hughes claims the deal is now dead in the water and even suggested Mourinho is toying with the idea of promoting the Nigeria international into first-team contention.
"I think Chelsea have a view on Victor [Moses]. What they're thinking we believe is that they would possibly like to keep him. If they go into the market again that could change that idea," he said.
"Victor obviously came to us last year and did exceptionally well for us. There were a couple of injuries that hampered him unfortunately, but he showed enough in his time with us that it made Chelsea very aware of the talent they have and what Victor could offer. It could be that Victor now plays a part at Chelsea."
