Italian star set for Milan return

AC and Inter Milan are looking to bring Mario Balotelli back to Italy, according to the Sun.

The Italian striker was booked in Nice’s 3-2 loss to Dijon earlier this month after complaining to the referee that he was racially abused.

The 27-year-old has been in fine form this season, netting 13 goals in Ligue 1 and a further six goals in the Europa League.

Nice are keen to retain Balotelli’s services, but with his contract with the French outfit expiring at the end of the season, they face an uphill task to keep him in the south coast.

The striker is pushing for a return to the Italy national team ahead of the the World Cup, but he will have been frustrated at the treatment he received in the aforementioned league loss.

Balotelli made his name with Inter before moving to Manchester City earlier in his career and twice returned to Italy with AC Milan before and after an unsuccessful spell with Liverpool.

The pair may now look to bring Balotelli back to Italy at the end of the season, with the forward free to negotiate a pre-contract with a new team as his current deal with Nice edges closer to expiring.
