Which forward topped the rankings in Serie A this weekend?

There were plenty of big fixtures in Italy’s top-flight this weekend with the likes of Napoli and Fiorentina facing off and the Derby d’Italia between Inter and Juventus. However, only Inter defender Jeison Murillo earned a spot in the WhoScored Team of the Week this weekend as top spot was reserved for Palermo forward Franco Vazquez (9.23).

Vazquez scored the winner in Palermo’s 1-0 win away to Bologna on Sunday, which was his first goal of the season. The Italy international made as many dribbles as the entire Bologna team combined (5) and also won at least one more aerial duel than any other player (6). Added to that, only Enzo Maresca (79) had more touches of the ball than Vazquez for Palermo (67).

The 26-year-old was joined in the team of the week by teammates Stefano Sorrentino and Sinisa Andjelkovic, who both played an integral part in keeping a clean sheet for their side.

Which forward topped the rankings in Serie A this weekend?

No Palermo player made combined tackles and interceptions (11) than Andjelkovic and Sorrentino was by far the busier of the two goalkeepers, as he made six saves compared to just one for Bologna shot stopper Antonio Mirante.
