Juventus eye shock move for Crystal Palace defender

Juventus will move for Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt if they lose Alex Sandro this summer, claims The Sun.

Sandro has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but Jose Mourinho’s side have reportedly cooled their interest in the Brazilian.

The Old Lady have already lost reserve left-back Kwadwo Asamoah and will certainly be forced into action if they are unable to hold onto Sandro.

The 27-year-old is reportedly mulling a contract offer from Juventus but Max Allegri’s side are already making contingency plans for a future without him.

Van Aanholt has emerged as a stunning candidate to replace Sandro after impressing towards the end of last season with Palace, as the Eagles beat the drop.

Juventus are in talks with United over the transfer of Matteo Darmian, who can play at left-back, but have so far failed to agree a fee with the Red Devils.

Van Aanholt, who is a full Netherlands international, is now being lined up in a shock £25m move if Sandro leaves. The 27-year-old scored five goals and provided one assist in 28 league appearances for Palace last season.
