January move off the cards for Liverpool and Chelsea’s Serie A target
According to Genoa director Giorgio Perinetti, star striker Krzysztof Piatek will not be making an early exit from the club following a scintillating start to the season, Football London reports.
The Polish hot shot only joined the Serie A outfit in the summer for a fee in the region of €4m but the club are already believed to value the 23-year-old at ten times that figure.
There’s little wonder they’ve slapped such a huge price tag on the forward either, having scored a remarkable 13 goals in his first eight appearances for the club.
Piatek’s fine form in front of goal continued in the international break, scoring on his first ever competitive start for Poland in a 3-2 defeat to Portugal.
His sensational start to life in Italy - becoming the first player to score in seven successive Serie A appearances since Gabriel Batistuta - has understandably caught the eye of the countries biggest clubs, though there is Premier League interest from both Liverpool and Chelsea too.
Any suitors have been dealt a blow, however, with Perinetti stating in an interview with Radio Sportiva, We should absolutely exclude [the] possibility of Piatek being sold in January,"
"He can improve even more so it’s hard to imagine the parameters & set his valuation now."
