Chelsea the Premier League frontrunners for Borussia Dortmund starlet
Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic has opened the door to a Premier League move in the future and Chelsea are the current favourites for his signature.
Pulisic has emerged as one the best young talents in the world over the last 18 months and has previously been heavily linked with moves to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 20-year-old, who grew up as a United fan, has endured a difficult start to the season but still ranks highly among several of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Chelsea.
Former Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho has emerged as Dortmund’s premier talent this season and pushed Pulisic down the pecking order.
Both are expected to face off against each other when England host USA on Thursday night and Pulisic has hinted at a Premier League move in the future.
“England, the Premier League, is a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here,” The Guardian quote him as saying.
“As you can see, we are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, then that’s when those things happen.
“Like I said before, reading these articles [about me], I tend to stay away from that stuff. I know it is going to be there but it is not my priority.”
Pulisic has entered the final two years of his current Dortmund contract and a decision will have to be made on his future if he has not signed a new deal before the end of the season.
Dortmund have made a stunning start to the season and are four points clear of their nearest challengers and are seven ahead of Bayern Munich after beating their rivals last weekend.
Pulisic has been limited to just four starts and a further three appearances from the bench in the league this season but has managed one goal and two assists in that time.
Despite a lack of regular playing time this term, Pulisic has completed the most dribbles in the Bundesliga since the start of last season (90).
He's going to Liverpool. Count on it.
