West Brom have announced Tony Pulis has signed a new one-year contract extension keeping him at the Hawthorns until at least 2018.
The 58-year-old’s future at West Brom came into question over the summer after the club failed to land a number of transfer targets.
West Brom have only won two of their nine Premier League matches this season but Pulis has been handed a new 12-month extension to add to his deal that was due to end at the end of this season.
“Tony has huge experience and proven know-how in one of the most demanding leagues in world football,” Baggies chairman John Williams told the club’s official website.
“He brings assurance and stability at an important time, when the club is moving from one long-established ownership regime to the new leadership from China.
“From the outset, the takeover announcement made it clear that this new era would work to progress Albion to an established top 10 club without jeopardising continuity on and off the field.
“With this in mind, I am pleased we have extended Tony’s contract. The board and the owner believe this extension will bring us the key dual benefits of stability and improvements.”
Pulis has won 32.5% of the 77 matches he has overseen as West Brom manager since becoming manager at the start of 2015.
