Dutch legend wants Sampdoria move

The agent of Wesley Sneijder has revealed joining Sampdoria is at the top of his list of prioritises this summer.

Sneijder has entered the final 12 months of his current deal with Galatasaray and is free to leave the Turkish giants.

The Netherlands international has received an offer from expansion team Los Angeles FC to become one of the top-10 earners in MLS, but Sneijder’s preference is to remain in Europe.

Bologna have previously been linked with a move for the former Inter midfielder but Sampdoria are favourites for his signature after his agent, Guido Albers, confirmed the 33-year-old wants to join the Italian side.

“Wesley wants Samp,” he told Il Secolo XIX, via Football Italia. “At the moment they’re his priority among the many potential suitors abroad. Wesley has always won over the fans wherever he’s gone, never a problem, never a controversy.”

Sneijder has spent the last four years at Galatasaray after leaving Inter in 2013. In the last two seasons, the veteran midfielder, who is the most capped Netherlands player of all-time, has provided at least two more assists than any other player in the Turkish Super Lig (22).

However, of the 59 players that scored at least five league goals in the league last season, Sneijder had the worst conversion rate (7.2%).
