Manchester United have not received any bids from China for captain Wayne Rooney, contrary to reports, according to Sky Sports.
Reports had emerged suggesting United had received a huge offer to take Rooney, who is currently sidelined for two months, off their hands.
Chinese Super League clubs have until February 26 to sign players before their transfer window closes, with a raft of big names linked with a lucrative move to China.
Total spending has already surpassed the £200m mark this month for Chinese clubs, but it will not be increasing with a Rooney move, according to Sky Sports.
Rooney, 30, had just enjoyed a purple patch of form before a knee injury put him out of action for up to two months.
The England captain was fiercely criticised for his performances at the start of the season and his place in Roy Hodgson’s Euro squad had been called into question.
However, since the start of the year only two players have scored more goals than Rooney in the Premier League (5).
