Monaco have rejected a €30m (£27.2m) bid from AC Milan for Radamel Falcao, reports France Football.
The Serie A giants are desperate to sign another striker before the transfer window closes at the end of this month and have now widened their search to France.
Having already missed out on Andrea Belotti, Alvaro Morata, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Diego Costa, Vincenzo Montella’s side have now tried their luck with Falcao.
The Colombia international has enjoyed a resurgence in his career in the last 12 months and captained the Leonardo Jardim’s side to their first Ligue 1 title since 2000 last season.
Falcao ignored interest from China earlier in the year to sign a new three-year deal with Monaco at the start of June and Jardim’s side have told Milan to look elsewhere for a new No.9.
Only Edinson Cavani (31) and Alexandre Lacazette (26) scored more goals from inside the penalty area than Falcao (20) in Ligue 1 last season.
