Manchester United and Manchester City to battle for Barcelona sensation
Manchester United and Manchester City are set to thrash it out for the signing of Barcelona star Neymar this summer, reports the Sunday Express.
The Brazil international has been in fine form for the La Liga giants, with his WhoScored rating (8.52) better than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
However, his father has hinted that Neymar needs a move away from Camp Nou at the end of the season to move out of Lionel Messi’s shadow and realise his full potential.
This has alerted the two Manchester giants, who are prepared to spend upwards of £100m to lure the 25-year-old away from the Blaugrana.
United boss Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of Neymar, while City manager Pep Guardiola has never worked with the Spanish boss having left a year before the Brazilian star arrived in Spain.
It is believed that Neymar, though, would prefer a move to Old Trafford, which is a boost to United, who are keen to improve in attack as they bid to return to the summit of English football.
