Aaron Ramsey has revealed he is excited about working with new Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
The Wales international only has 12 months remaining on his current Arsenal deal and is no closer to renewing with the Gunners.
Ramsey wants a significant increase on his current salary following the high profile arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January.
It was thought Arsenal would be forced to cash in on Ramsey this summer but the 27-year-old has indicated his future is at the Emirates following Emery’s appointment.
“Of course. I haven’t spoken to him at all yet, but I think it’s an exciting time for the club,” Sky Sports quote Ramsey as saying. “I can’t wait to get back there now.”
Emery reportedly has no intentions of selling Ramsey and wants to make the Welshman the star of Arsenal’s midfield next season.
Ramsey often struggled for regular playing time under Arsene Wenger, but has at least spent the last few seasons playing in his preferred position in central midfield.
Only Alexandre Lacazette (18) played a direct hand in more Premier League goals for Arsenal this season than Ramsey (15).
