Leicester to shatter club-transfer record

Leicester are on the verge of breaking their club-transfer record for the second time in a week after closing in on CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa in a deal worth £16.6m, reports The Daily Mirror.

Musa, 23, has been regularly linked with a move to Leicester since the start of last season and Claudio Ranieri’s side have rekindled their interest after missing out on Watford skipper Troy Deeney.

The Nigeria international still has three years left to run on his current deal with CSKA Moscow but now appears close to joining Leicester after rejecting interest from Everton and Southampton.

Only three players have scored more goals in the Russian Premier League in the last three campaigns than Musa (30).
