Everton striker Romelu Lukaku scored for the seventh consecutive Premier Legaue game in their 3-2 defeat to Leicester to edge one match closer to Jamie Vardy’s record.
Vardy, 28, only became the first player in Premier League history to score in 11 straight matches earlier last month, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record that had stood for 12 years.
However, the England international’s feat could be short lived after Lukaku scored the seventh game in succession against Vardy’s Leicester City on Saturday.
The former Chelsea has been in scintillating form since the start of the season and has now taken his tally to 13 to the season, now only two behind leading goalscorer Vardy (15).
