Real Madrid monitoring England international

Real Madrid are interested in signing Raheem Sterling and will continue to monitor his Manchester City future, claims ESPN.

Sterling’s existing City contract is due to expire at the end of next season and City are yet to make a breakthrough in talks.

The England international shelved negotiations prior to the 2018 World Cup in the hope of enhancing his reputation with a strong showing in Russia.

Things didn’t go to plan for Sterling at the 2018 World Cup but City are still no closer to securing his long-term future.

Sterling has previously revealed a desire to play abroad and Madrid will continue to monitor his future at City.

Sterling has rediscovered his best form for City this season and is spearheading their title defence.

The City No.7 has scored four goals and provided two assists in seven Premier League appearances and is the seventh highest WhoScored rated player in Europe’s top five leagues (7.81).
