Bayern win race to sign sought after Frenchman

Bayern Munich have agreed a deal to sign Rennes forward Ousmane Dembele, according to BeIN Sports, via Get French Football.

The German giants have seemingly fended off competition from Barcelona to land the highly rated Frenchman and the reported deal will see Dembele remain at Rennes on loan until the end of next season.

Dembele’s move to the Allianz Arena will also reportedly mean Kingsley Coman will return to Juventus rather than stay at Bayern, even though his preference is to stay with the Bundesliga giants.

However, with Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery coming towards the end of their careers, it would seem strange Bayern would opt against making the switch permanent for such an exciting prospect that has already proved a match winner time and again this season.

Dembele’s goal against Marseille on Friday meant the Rennes forward became the first teenager across Europe’s top five leagues to take their goal tally into double figures this season (10).
