Trippier anticipating late summer move to Man Utd


Kieran Trippier is ready to be patient to seal a move to Manchester United this summer, claims The Daily Telegraph.

 

The 30-year-old is keen to return to the Premier League after two seasons with Atletico Madrid and his family have even relocated back in England.

 

United have earmarked Trippier as a top transfer target this summer to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

 

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must now shift some deadwood at Old Trafford to free up any further funds for new additions this summer.

 

United have spent over £100m to sign Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane and Trippier is aware players must now go before they can pursue him.

 

Atletico have so far demanded over £30m for Trippier but United are hoping to sign the England international for a fraction of the price.

 

Trippier expects a deal to go down the wire, with a month still to go in the summer transfer window.

 

 

Atletico paid in the region of £20m to sign Trippier from Tottenham two years ago and the right-back is arguably now in career-best form. 

 

England manager Gareth Southgate hailed Trippier's development at Euro 2020 and his heart his now set on a move to Old Trafford.

 

Trippier finished last season in the WhoScored Team of the Season in La Liga, as Atletico beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to the league title.
