Newly promoted Premier League side Wolves have tabled a stunning club-record €40m (£35m) bid for Valencia full-back Joao Cancelo, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Cancelo spent last season on loan with Serie A giants Inter but Luciano Spalletti’s side are not in the financial position to make his switch permanent.
The Portugal international will return to Valencia this summer but is not expected to play for the club again, with a number of sides around Europe interested.
Juventus have been mooted with a move for the 24-year-old but are currently locked in talks with Manchester United to prise Matteo Darmian back to Italy, paving the way for Wolves to make a shock move.
Nuno’s side have tabled a monster bid for the versatile right-back, while super agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly also working on deals to move Sporting goalkeeper Rui Patricio and AC Milan striker Andre Silva to the Molineux.
Cancelo finished the 2017/18 campaign in the WhoScored Serie A team of the season (7.12 rating).
