Guardiola makes decision on blockbuster move for Eden Hazard

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has ruled out a blockbuster move to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Hazard will only have 18 months left to run on his current Chelsea deal in January and has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this year.

The Belgium international is considering his future at Chelsea amid Madrid’s lingering interest and it increasingly looks like Maurizio Sarri’s side will have to sell him in the summer.

Guardiola has previously been linked with a stunning move to sign Hazard from their Premier League rivals but the City insists that will not happen despite being one of the best players in the world.

“That is not going to happen,” the London Evening Standard quote Guardiola as saying. “I am agreeing with him. He said I’m so good and I am agreeing with him.

“Switch on the TV and look at him. You realise his qualities. He is one of the best players in the world.”

Hazard has been in outstanding form since the 2018 World Cup and will be Chelsea’s main threat when they host City on Saturday evening.

In fact, only City star Raheem Sterling (7.94) has a higher WhoScored rating than Hazard (7.89) in the Premier League this season.
