Aguero prepared to retire at City

Sergio Aguero has informed Manchester City he wants to retire at the club and is no longer interested in joining Barcelona or Real Madrid, reports ESPN.

Aguero, 27, still has three years left to run on his current deal but is reportedly on the verge of adding a further year to that, keeping him at the Etihad until at least the summer of 2020.

The former Atletico Madrid striker has regularly been linked with a return to La Liga and a move back to his native Argentina, but the City No.10 no longer has the same desire to fulfil those ambitions.

Since joining City from Atletico in 2011, Aguero has scored at least 14 more goals than any other player in the Premier League (92).
