Sunderland have dropped summer signing Jeremain Lens from the first-team and fined him two weeks’ wages, according to the Daily Mail.
The Black Cats spent £9m on Lens over the summer but the former Dynamo Kyiv has failed to make any impression on Sam Allardyce since he took over at the start of October.
Lens has only started one game since Allardyce’s appointment and his future now appears bleak at Sunderland after being disciplined by the club.
According to reports, the Netherlands international refused to take part in a post-match warm down after their 1-0 defeat to Watford, which left Allardyce unimpressed.
Since the start of the season, no Sunderland player has completed more dribbles in the Premier League than Lens (17).
