Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to rekindle his interest in Arsenal creator Mesut Ozil in January, claims The Daily Express.
Ozil was heavily linked with a move to United at the start of the year but ended up signing a blockbuster new £350,000-a-week deal at the Emirates.
It was Alexis Sanchez who left Arsenal to join United rather than Ozil but Mourinho is still keen on reuniting with the former Germany international.
Mourinho was frustrated with a lack of investment during the summer and is planning to bolster his squad when the January transfer window opens.
Ozil has been heavily criticised for his performances this season and new manager Unai Emery has even demanded more from the 29-year-old.
There have even been reports of a falling out between Emery and Ozil and now Mourinho is ready to pounce for the former Real Madrid ace.
Since making his Arsenal debut in 2013, only Christian Eriksen has provided as many Premier League assists as Ozil (50) and the Tottenham ace (485) is the only player to have created more goalscoring chances than the German (482) in that time.
