The agent of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has revealed Real Madrid and AC Milan both wanted the Lazio midfielder this summer and he could leave at the end of the current campaign.
Milinkovic-Savic has established himself as one of the brightest young talents in Italy in the last 12 months and was briefly linked with a moves to Juventus and Liverpool before the start of the season.
Lazio slapped a €80m (£70.5m) valuation on the 22-year-old’s head right at the start of the summer and the Serie A giants might be within their rights to demand even more money after transfer fees spiralled out of control towards the end of the window.
However, Milinkovic-Savic is in no rush to leave Lazio even though his agent, Mateja Kezman, has refused to rule out his departure at the end of the current campaign.
“If Milinkovic-Savic keeps this up, there will be plenty of contact from different clubs, like there was over the summer,” Kezman told Radio CRC, via Football Italia.
“We’ll see what happens, but for now, what matters is that he’s growing under Inzaghi, who’s a great coach.
“Right now, Milinkovic-Savic is happy to continue his adventure in Rome with Lazio. [Sporting director] Igli Tare is sometimes criticised, but he’s done a great job.
“He signed some great players and sold those that weren’t happy at extraordinary prices.
“Now Lazio’s bench is longer and they can fight to finish in the top two and win the Europa League.
“Milinkovic-Savic to leave next summer? There’s been a lot of pressing from several clubs, such as those in Madrid, Manchester and Milan, but the lad wants to be happy, play to keep growing and become one of the best in his role.
“It’s difficult to see him away from Lazio, where he has started the season very well, but I can’t rule out him leaving.
“Napoli interested in Milinkovic-Savic? They did a great job, both in the league and in the Champions League. I heard rumours, but nothing more.”
Since the start of last season, Milinkovic-Savic has won more aerials duels than any other Serie A player (158).
With the kind of midfield Real Madrid has at this moment, i highly doubt they would be interested in adding another. Casemiro,Kroos,Modric,Isco,Asensio and Kovacic are already top quality and Ceballos with Llorente are rising stars, therefore its highly unlikely Real Madrid want him at this point.
