Rummenigge rules out Gotze sale

Juventus have been served a blow in their pursuit of German World Cup winner Mario Gotze after Bayern Munich’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge categorically ruled out any sale involving the midfielder.

The Serie A champions have reportedly been weighing up a move for Gotze as an alternative to the incoming Julian Draxler.

However, any chances of signing the Bayern midfielder have now been banished following comments made from Rummenigge.

“We haven’t put any players up for sale, including Gotze,” Rummenigge is quoted as saying in Kicker.

“Everyone deserves a second chance, and that includes Mario. He has all our support, and he’ll stay with us.”

The Germany international was Pep Guardiola’s most used outfield player last season (32 appearances) contributing nine goals to Bayern’s third straight Bundesliga title defence.
