Manchester City closing in on €50m deal for new full-back
Manchester City are in talks with Juventus to sign right-back Joao Cancelo in a €50m (£44.2m) deal, claims Sports Mediaset.
Pep Guardiola is on the market for a new right-back to provide serious competition with current first-choice Kyle Walker.
City are prepared to let Danilo leave the club in order to facilitate Cancelo’s arrival and are now in talks with the Serie A champions.
The Premier League champions even offered Danilo to Juventus in a player-plus-cash deal but the Old Lady are not interested in the 27-year-old.
City are reportedly even on the home stretch of signing Cancelo in what would be the club’s first signing since winning the domestic treble.
Cancelo only joined Juventus last summer in a £35.5m deal and it would be an impressive piece of business if City can close a deal for just £44.2m.
Only Jeremie Boga (3.3) and Josip Ilicic (2.5) averaged more dribbles per game than Cancelo (2.4) in Serie A last season and the 25-year-old finished in the WhoScored Team of the Season (7.20).
