Inter sign Kolarov from rivals Roma

Inter have confirmed the arrival of Aleksandar Kolarov from Serie A rivals Roma on a one-year deal with an option to a further 12 months.

Antonio Conte's side have signed the 34-year-old left-back after agreeing an initial €1m (£890k) deal with Roma plus a further €500k (£440k) in add-ons.

Kolarov has spent the last three years at Roma after joining from Manchester City in 2017 and is regarded as one of the best defenders in the division.

However, Roma are looking to raise funds to broker a permanent deal for Manchester United's Chris Smalling and have also offload Patrik Schick to Bayer Leverkusen.

Kolarov, who can also play as a third centre-back, will provide competition for places at left wing-back with Ashley Young after Cristiano Biraghi's loan spell from Fiorentina ended.

Over the last three Serie A campaigns, Kolarov has scored more goals than any other defender (17).
