West Brom refuse to match £12m asking price for Arsenal defender

West Brom are interested in signing Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs but will not match his £12m valuation, reports The Daily Mail.

Arsenal are ready to sell Gibbs as part of a number of departures that are expected over the coming weeks but will not let the 27-year-old leave for cheap.

The Gunners signed Schalke left-back Saed Kolasinac on a free transfer at the start of the summer and that will only limit Gibbs’ playing time further.

Watford and Newcastle have also been linked with a move for the England left-back, but like West Brom, have been unwilling to match Arsenal’s demands.

Tony Pulis is keen to sign another left-back to add competition for Nyom following Brendan Galloway’s unsuccessful loan stint from Everton last season.

Gibbs only made 11 appearances in the Premier League last season, although did start five of the club’s eight Champions League fixtures.
