Pep Guardiola has been given a huge injury boost with news Benjamin Mendy is set to return to full training next month, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Mendy has missed more than four months of the season after suffering knee ligament damage at the end of September during City’s 5-0 win over Crystal Palace.
It was first feared that the France international would be sidelined until April but his recovery is going better than planned and he could return to first-team action a month early.
Guardiola has been forced to adapt Fabian Delph and Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back in Mendy’s absence but his return could provide the Premier League leaders with a huge boost ahead of the business end of the season.
City are still pursuing an unprecedented quadruple and the return of their only recognised left-back would only enhance their chances of success on four fronts.
Mendy made a strong start to his City career following his £49m switch from Monaco over the summer and has even been a huge hit with supporters off the pitch for his social media activity.
With that in mind, it might be worth investing in Mendy on Football INDEX now before his share price starts to climb. He is currently trading at £1.32.
