Alan Pardew is closing in on becoming West Brom’s next manager after two meetings with the Baggies, reports The Daily Mail.
West Brom sacked Tony Pulis at the start of the week and are keen to appoint his successor as quickly as possible.
Former England manager Sam Allardyce and ex-West Ham boss Slaven Bilic have both been heavily linked with the vacant post at the Hawthorns, but Pardew is in now considered the clear frontrunner.
West Brom chief executive John Williams has already had two meetings with the 56-year-old this week and further talks are planned before a decision is made.
Gary Megson will be given the reigns when West Brom make the daunting trip to Wembley to face Tottenham on Sunday and the former Bolton manager may also be in charge for their clash with Newcastle just three days later.
Pardew has been out of work since being sacked as Palace manager in December 2016 after winning just 1 of his last 11 Premier League matches in charge.
West Brom are currently outside the bottom three on goal difference and are on the current longest winless streak in the Premier League (10 matches).
