Which Manchester City forward scored a perfect 10 in the Premier League this weekend?

Raheem Sterling may have scored his first senior hat-trick this weekend as Manchester City thumped newly promoted Bournemouth 5-1, but the England international could only garner a WhoScored rating of 9.53. Instead, it was Wilfried Bony that scored a perfect rating of 10 on Saturday afternoon.

The Ivory Coast international has struggled to fully settle with life in Manchester since joining from Swansea in January and with Sergio Aguero out of the picture for at least a month and Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko both plying their trade at other clubs, the goalscoring burden will be on his shoulders in the immediate future.

Life without Aguero has got off to a good start. As well as Sterling’s hat-trick, Bony scored twice and registered an assist in a scintillating performance from the two-time Premier League champions.

The Ivorian striker was handful all afternoon for the Bournemouth defence for a plethora of reasons. Not only did he score goals, but also he was also creative, which isn’t something usually seen in Bony’s performances. The 26-year-old created three further chances to go with his assist, which was the most of any player on display at the Etihad.

What was typical of a Bony performance, however, was his physical prowess. The City striker won at least five more aerial duels than any other player (9) and also registered four shots on target. Bony isn’t likely to ever have the same affect as Aguero in the City line up, but he will certainly cushion the blow felt by his loss with more performances like the one against Bournemouth.
