Edinson Cavani has joined up with his Uruguay teammates despite suffering an injury with Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend, reports L’Equipe.
The 29-year-old gave PSG a 2-0 lead against Rennes on Sunday with a wonderful effort from range before being forced off minutes later.
Cavani was unable to continue after picking up a hamstring injury that was thought would keep him out of Uruguay’s upcoming matches against Ecuador and Chile.
However, scan results have revealed the injury sustained was not as bad as first feared and Cavani is now due to fly to South America on Monday night to join up with his squad for their 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
No player has scored more goals in Europe’s top five leagues than Cavani this season (11).
