Lewandowski worth £35m, claims agent

The agent of Manchester United target Robert Lewandowski claims it will take a bid in excess of €50m (£35m) to tempt Bayern Munich into selling the striker.

Louis van Gaal is in the market for a world-class striker after selling Robin van Persie and opting against turning Falcao's loan move into a permanent one and Lewandowski is among the players touted as a possible successor.

However, the 26-year-old won't come cheap, according to his agent Cezary Kucharski.

"I think it would have to be a very high offer, definitely higher than €50m," he told Polish television.

"Robert is one of the most valued strikers on the market who guarantees goals, guarantees assists, excitement. He has shown that over many years during his career.

"Every year he is an even better player and plays at a higher level and that is very important for other clubs because he has credibility and guarantee at least 30 goals a season."

The Poland international has been one of the most prolific strikers on the continent in the last three years and would certainly be an astute acquisition by United.

In fact, only Cristiano Ronaldo (39) and Lionel Messi (26) have scored more goals in the Champions League than the Bayern forward (22) in that period.

Furthermore, only Alexander Meier (19) scored more goals in the Bundesliga than Lewandowski (17) last season and his league haul represented five more than United's top goalscorer - Wayne Rooney (12) - in the Premier League.
