Watch: Manchester United flop scores goal of the season contender

He may not have enjoyed his time in England, failing to live up to the hype that preceded his move to Manchester United, but Memphis Depay is flying for Lyon following a January transfer.

The Dutchman played just 20 minutes of Premier League action under Jose Mourinho prior to his move to OL but has quickly gotten up to speed in Ligue 1. After a second brace for the club, Memphis' league tally already stands at five for his new side, which is the same number he managed in all competitions for United across 45 appearances.

It was the quality of his second strike in a 4-0 win over Toulouse that has thrust the 23-year old back into the limelight, picking up the ball just past the halfway line and having the awareness to turn and shoot over the hapless Alban Lafont in the TFC goal.

The strike was named as the goal of the week across Europe by BT Sport, and it's not hard to see why despite a number of superb strikes over the past few days.

With a further two assists to his name in Lyon colours, Memphis is second only to Alexandre Lacazette in the club's WhoScored.com player ratings, earning a perfect 10 for his efforts on Sunday to star in the Ligue 1 team of the week.
