Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has been charged with an alleged act of violent conduct and faces a three-game ban, the Football Association has announced.
Alli, 20, clashed with Claudio Yacob midway through the first half of Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday evening before seemingly turning and punching the West Brom midfielder.
The England international’s reaction was not included in Mike Jones’ post-match referee report and he has been found guilty of violent conduct my a panel of three former elite referees. Alli has until 6pm on Wednesday to respond, but it looks likely that he will now miss the remainder of the season.
Only James Milner (8) has registered more assists in the Premier League in 2016 than Alli (6).
