It would be a dream to play for Liverpool, says Premier League midfielder

Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has issued a come and get me plea to Liverpool after revealing the Reds as his dream club.

Doucoure has enjoyed a thoroughly impressive campaign for the Hornets and been heavily linked with a big money move in the summer.

Manchester United have even been mooted with an interest in the 25-year-old, but the Watford ace says he would jump at the chance to join their arch-rivals.

“Liverpool is a club that needs no introduction,” he cold French television programme Canal Football Club, via The Daily Mail. “I was desperate to play at Anfield, I wanted to feel the atmosphere.

“For me it would be a dream to play for a club like this. I am grateful to Watford, I have the confidence of this club, it is the one who revealed me to the Premier League.

“If there is an offer, we will discuss to find the best solution. Everyone wants to play in the Champions League, the big competitions.”

Watford fended off interest in Doucoure in January but it remains to be seen whether they can hang on to their star man over the summer.

Doucoure is their top goalscorer in the Premier League this season (7), while no player in the division has won possession in the midfield third more times (161).
