Manchester United rekindle interest in Germany international
Manchester United will rekindle their interest in Thomas Muller and finally try and prise the Bayern Munich forward to Old Trafford next summer, claims The Sun.
Muller revealed earlier this week that he considered joining United during Louis van Gaal’s time at the club and the Red Devils have been given fresh hope in agreeing a deal after the Germany international refused to rule out a move away from Bayern in the future.
The 28-year-old is no longer one of the first names on the teamsheet under Carlo Ancelotti and has struggled to rediscover the devastating goalscoring form he showed under former boss Pep Guardiola.
James Rodriguez’s arrival from Real Madrid has restricted Muller’s game time further and United are hopeful of securing a deal for the unorthodox forward after the 2018 World Cup.
Despite dropping down the pecking order at Bayern, only Emil Forsberg (20) has provided more assists than Muller (13) in the Bundesliga since the start of last season.
