West Brom have announced Chris Brunt has put pen to paper on a new 12-month extension keeping him at the club until the summer of 2018.
Brunt’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign but the Northern Ireland international has been one of the club’s most consistent performers over the years and they have understandable rewarded the veteran with an extension.
The 32-year-old has spent the last 10 years with West Brom after joining from Sheffield Wednesday in 2007 and is currently second on the club’s list for most appearances in their 139-year history (331 appearances).
“Chris has been a stalwart of this football club for a long time and he is a valued and popular member of the squad,” manager Tony Pulis told the club’s official website.
“It’s great that he has extended his contract and he has shown great character to return from his injury in the manner he has.
“His form has been terrific since returning to the team and long may that continue.”
Since August 2010 only five players have registered more assists in the Premier League than Brunt (40).
