Juventus reject Chelsea’s loan bid for Higuain

Juventus have rejected Chelsea’s loan bid for Gonzalo Higuain but talks will continue between the two clubs, claims the London Evening Standard.

Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan but is keen to reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea this month.

Sarri wanted to sign Higuain last summer and has now rekindled his interest following Alvaro Morata’s woes this season.

Juventus are willing to let Higuain move to Chelsea but they want Sarri’s side to take on the same terms Milan have agreed to.

Milan have an option to make Higuain’s loan spell permanent in a deal worth £32m, but Chelsea do not want to agree to those terms.

Chelsea do not like to sign players the wrong side of 30 and only tend to offer existing ones at the club rolling 12-month contracts, which is why Cesc Fabregas left this month.

However, the west London outfit risk infuriating manager Sarri, who is desperate to sign a new frontman this month.

Higuain has scored six goals in 15 league matches this season and has only netted twice in his last 14 outings in all competitions.
