West Brom have announced they have signed Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sandro on loan until the end of the season.
Sandro, 26, completed his medical at the Hawthorns on Friday after agreeing terms and Tony Pulis’ side hold the right to make the deal permeant at the end of the season.
The former Brazil international has featured in 11 games for QPR in the Championship this season but previously has Premier League experience with both the Spurs and the Super Hoops and he is delighted to be back in England’s top-flight.
“I spoke to the manager and was impressed,” Sandro told the West Brom official website. “This is a big club and I feel happy to be here and very happy to be back in the Premier League.
“I believe I have a lot to offer. It was my first day today and I’m looking forward to be part of this family.
“As a player I play with my heart, I give all i can on the pitch - all the time I want to win the ball and play the ball. I hope the fans will see the best of me during my time.”
Sandro hasn’t played a competitive fixture since the start of the year, but his defensive qualities look well suited to the type of football Pulis promotes. In fact, the combative midfielder ranks among the top 10 players for fewest minutes per tackle (every 27 mins) and interceptions (25.2 mins) in the Championship of those to have started in at least five games this season.
