Romelu Lukaku is on the verge of signing a new club record deal worth £100,000-a-week at Everton, reports The Daily Mail.
The Belgium international’s current deal is due to expire in 2019 but the he has been heavily linked with a move away from Everton and was widely expected to re-join Chelsea in the summer.
However, Ronald Koeman had no intention of selling their club record signing and fended off interest from their Premier League rivals, with Lukaku now poised to sign a new long-term deal.
Koeman landed himself in hot water after admitting Lukaku needs to leave Everton in order to fulfil his potential but news of the Belgian set to commit his future to the club would provide a massive boost to Everton given their recent woes.
Lukaku has nine goals in the Premier League this season but he has only managed two goals in his last seven matches for Everton and needs to get back to form in order to help Everton overcome their alarming slump in form.
