Juventus on alert as Manchester City ready move for Liverpool midfielder

Juventus will face stiff competition from Manchester City in the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, reports Calciomercato.com. 

The Turin side have been leading the race to sign the Germany international, who is out of contract next summer and is delaying his decision on penning a new deal. 

From January 1st, Can is free to negotiate with teams across Europe if Liverpool can’t convince him to extend his stay at Anfield. 

Juventus will have to act swiftly to convince him to to move to Italy, with Manchester City supposedly keen on luring the 23-year-old to the Etihad Stadium. 

However, the Old Lady is unlikely to alter their strategy in their attempts to sign Can, with Juventus linked with a move for the midfielder for some time now. 

City’s offer, though, is expected to blow Juventus’ out of the water, with the Premier League leaders also offering Can an integral midfield role under Pep Guardiola. 

Can has made seven starts for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, with the Reds keen to tie him down to a new deal.
