Everton and West Ham to battle for Bournemouth striker

Bournemouth are bracing themselves for January interest from Everton and West Ham for main striker Callum Wilson, according to The Daily Mirror.

West Ham are expected to dip into the transfer market for a new striker with Simone Zaza set to return to Juventus early from his loan spell, while Ronald Koeman also wants to boost his offensive options at Everton to ease the burden on Romelu Lukaku.

Both Premier League sides have reportedly earmarked Wilson as a potential January signing but could be forced to fork out in excess of £20m given the timing of the deal, coupled with the fact he only signed a four-year deal in July that runs until 2020.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a bright start to life in the Premier League last season before a long-term knee injury ruled him out for six months of the campaign and the Bournemouth frontman has struggled to recapture his pre-injury form since.

Of players to have scored at least 10 goals in the Premier League since the start of last season only Kelechi Iheanacho (24.4%) has a better conversion rate than Wilson (24.3%).
