Manchester United ace ruled out against Watford

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is serving a mandatory seven-day concussion protocol and will not face Watford on Saturday, reports Sky Sports.

Shaw was stretchered off during England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain on Saturday after suffering a nasty head injury in a collision with Dani Carvajal.

The 23-year-old was knocked unconscious from the blow and landed heavily on his head but responded well to treatment in the dressing room.

Shaw will miss Tuesday’s friendly against Switzerland and has returned to United for further assessment.

The United left-back has made a strong start to the season and finally appears to have turned a corner under Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United ace ruled out against Watford

Shaw has started United’s first four league games and has arguably been their best player so far this season.

However, Shaw will not be allowed to feature against Watford when United travel to the high-flying Hornets on Saturday evening.

Watford have made a startling start to the new campaign, winning their opening four matches, including a 2-1 win at home to Tottenham last time out.

Shaw, who is United’s highest WhoScored rated player in the Premier League this season (7.27), will be replaced by former Watford ace Ashley Young.
