Arsenal set for contract talks with World Cup winner

Arsenal are preparing to offer club-record signing Mesut Ozil a new contract to fend off reported interest from Fenerbahce, reports the Daily Mail.

Ozil, who is currently the club’s highest earner, has been heavily linked with a move to Fenerbahce after his agent confirmed interest in his client was serious.

The Germany international’s current deal still has three years to run having put pen to paper on a five-year deal when he signed from Real Madrid for £42.5m in 2013.

However, Arsenal are keen to extend the World Cup winners stay even longer as they look to fight off foreign interest.
