Manchester United ready summer move for former Manchester City winger
Manchester United are keeping tabs on former Manchester City winger Rabbi Matondo should a move for Jadon Sancho fall through, reports Manchester Evening News.
The Schalke star moved to the Bundesliga outfit in 2019 and has made nine league starts for the German side, eight of which have come this season.
The 19-year-old has netted just the one league goal this term, but his form hasn't deterred United from pondering a move for Matondo if they fail to sign Sancho.
The Dortmund winger has been in excellent form for the title contenders this season and he has been linked with a big money return to England.
However, United face stiff competition for Sancho should they seek to firm up their interest in the England international, with Premier League rivals Chelsea and LaLiga giants Real Madrid also monitoring the youngster.
United have pushed to sign British talent of late, bringing in Daniel James, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer, so interest in Matondo isn't a surprise.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have also linked with a move for Aston Villa's Jack Grealish and Leicester ace James Maddison as they look to follow a similar route.
Matondo and Sancho could clash this weekend as Borussia Dortmund host Schalke to kickstart the return of the Bundesliga.
