United listening to offers for defender

Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for Brazil international Rafael da Silva, according to reports.

Rafael, 24, has been at the club for seven years but has dropped down the pecking order since Louis van Gaal arrived at the club last summer, making only 11 appearances last term.

Turkish side Galatasaray and Italian duo Napoli and Fiorentina are alleged to be among the parties interested in taking the right-back off United’s hands.

The Brazilian appeared to be a long-term successor to Gary Neville after three standout seasons from 2010, but injuries have since wrecked his United career and left him turning out for the U21s.

Rafael's Old Trafford career would appear to be over this summer with United reportedly close to wrapping up a deal to sign Torino full-back Matteo Darmian.
