AC Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has hinted Mario Balotelli may not play for the club again this season.
Balotelli, 25, is currently on loan from Liverpool on a season-long loan deal but his career now appears to be at a crossroads with it unlikely he will feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans next season.
The Italy international has spent most of the season on the sidelines with injury and may now return to a reserved role until the end of the season after being threatened by Milan manager Mihajlovic.
“We should’ve scored a third goal and not risked at the end. It is also my fault, as those who don’t sacrifice themselves for the team to the 94th minute will no longer set foot on the field.
“It wasn’t just Balotelli, there were another two or three as well as him, they know who I’m talking about."
Balotelli hasn’t scored a league goal from open play since February 2015 during his disastrous maiden campaign for Liverpool (vs Tottenham). Furthermore, since August 2013, the troublesome striker has picked up more bookings in the league (18) than he has scored goals (16).
